A semi-regular round up of what's getting me through 2020

01. LISTEN — MONSTER RALLY :
02. NIBBLE — SMOOTHIE BOWLS :
I eat at least 1 of these bad boys a day. The base is most always ; frozen banana and blueberries, 2 handfuls spinach, pea protein, coconut milk. Lately, I've been adding spirulina, chlorella, and maca powders. Toppings; almond butter, raspberries, and granola.
03. GULP — SHATAVARI TEA : I've been enjoying steeping this overnight for a stronger cup of tea in the morning, which I've been drinking instead of coffee. It's good for hormone support and energy levels! (I LOVE coffee, but I'm learning I do best having it later in the day after I have food in my stomach — I'm working on giving my adrenals a good boost in the am, rather than stressing them out with coffee. But hey, that's just me). If I'm feeling it and have some extra time in the morning, I blend my Shatavari tea with coconut milk, a dash of cinnamon, cardamom, and stevia (the natural green kind, not the gross white processed kind). I've also been getting into mushroom powders these days, so sometimes I'll add a little Ashwaganda or Cordycep. I always pour over ice! This also makes for a delicious after lunch drink when I need a pick-me-up. |

04. WEAR — These beauties have become my go-to jean, even before my Levi Ribcages, which is really saying something.
As you may have noticed in my nibble and gulp blurbs, I've been super into superfoods and powders, which are SUPER intimidating at first (also, very into the word super). I've been building up my pantry slowly for a couple of years now. It all started with splurging on Moonjuice powders, and realizing I could make these concoctions myself (sorry Moonjuice, I still love you). I now get my powders from my local co-op's bulk section or my local herb shop (Tao Herbery or Present Moment Herbs for my local friends). Hot tip — bring your own jars to avoid waste!
06. LESS — PLASTIC : Speaking of less waste — I've been bringing my reusable totes and produce bags wherever I go! This is something I always try and do, but I've been holding myself more accountable these days.
07. MORE — JOURNALING : This is something I used to do every day as a teenager (I embarrassingly still have these, and may share at a later date if there's a need for a good giggle), it's time to bring it back for self-reflection, broadening my creative perspective, and getting myself away from my screens. |
